What is Metal Profiling?
Profiling is the process of cutting out a detailed shape from either a block of steel or alternatively any other material.
The process of profiling most materials is fairly straight forward; however stainless steel is more difficult to cut and requires our specialised equipment and processes. These processes enable us to cut high quality pieces of stainless steel in intricate detail to an exceptional finish.
With the development of technology, new processes have been devised including CNC Laser Cutting and Water jet cutting.
Laser Centre UK’s highly knowledgeable team of experts will advise you on the most appropriate process to meet your needs.
Laser Cutting
Laser cutting is the highly precise process of cutting and shaping flat sheet material. The main benefits of laser cutting are that it provides greater accuracy, high quality finish, no tooling costs and a quick turnaround resulting in a more efficient and cost effective service.
There is little heat distortion with the process of laser cutting and it provides a clean edge for holes etc. of any shape or size. Our specialised team are able to accept data in many formats including drawings, sketches, DXF, DWG and templates. In addition our team of highly experienced CAD/CAM programmers can either work with our customers compatible data or alternatively use their valuable knowledge with these programmes to produce drawings from art work etc.
Here at Laser Centre UK we can provide you with high quality laser cut components at extremely competitive prices and can accommodate pieces up to 4000 mm X 2000 mm.
We have the ability to laser cut components for a varied range of applications Street Furniture, tool making equipment, Signs and lettering, bespoke artistry work and many more.
Laser Centre UK provide the following:
- Laser cutting for up to 30 mm stainless steel – all grades
- Laser cutting for up to 25 mm mild steel – all grades
- Laser cutting for up to 15 mm aluminium
- Laser cutting for rectangular, square and round tube
- Ability to laser cut holes, profiles and tight contours
Water Cutting
The water cutting technology allows us to cut virtually any shape out of almost any type of material using a jet of water at high velocity and pressure.
There are many benefits to water jet cutting. It is very cost effective as it is cheaper than other processes, it provides the ability to cut a wider range of thicknesses, the quality of the cut is exceptional and it can cut almost any shape.
Again our highly experienced team will work with you to ensure that you receive the best quality item and finish for your project.
Plasma Cutting
Plasma cutting is a process that is used to cut steel and various other metals of different thicknesses using a plasma torch. Laser Centre’s high definition plasma cutting facility will provide you with a quick and accurate method of cutting a wide range of materials whilst ensuring great quality. The speed of plasma cutting can prove very cost effective if this were your desired process.
We offer High Definition plasma cutting for precision cut parts, which provides a superior quality finish and High Speed plasma cutting for large volume jobs.
Our in-house experts can process information in various formats, e.g. DXF CAD files, email or hand drawn artwork and they are on hand to provide you with any technical advice you may require in producing the desired result.
Plate Sawing
Plate sawing uses the principle of an abrasive disk. It provides a clean and accurate cut edge with minimal waste so is therefore a very cost effective process.
